Mon 11/17 Bull's Bridge

This is my favorite hike in the area! One of the most scenic spots in Litchfield County, so bring your cameras and parents may want to stay and check it out for a little bit. The town of Kent has a lot to offer, including a public library, lots of coffee shops/bakeries/bistros, shops, etc. 45 on Main coffee and ice cream may be a great spot for a post hike trip with the kids to celebrate a great trimester of Outdoor Education. 


This will likely be our last hike for the fall term. 

Park at the parking lot before the covered bridge. 248 Bull's Bridge Rod, Kent, CT. The covered bridge is one way traffic at a time. 

It will be windy and cold but sunny, wear windproof layers, boots, hat, gloves. Bring food, water, and any and all necessary medical supplies.

Mon 11/10 White Memorial Boardwalk and Trails

Little Pond Boardwalk Parking Area:


 Driving from the Museum: Search: Little Pond Boardwalk on google maps1. Take the White Memorial driveway (Whitehall Road) back to entrance at Bissell Road.


2. Turn right onto Bissell Road and Follow to the end, bearing left at the fork.


3. Turn left onto White Woods Road. The Little Pond Trail is about 200 feet up on the


right. Please only park in the designated Little Pond Boardwalk parking lot.


There is additional parking in a lot about ¼ mile farther down Whites Woods Road on the

Mon 10/27 Steep Rock Haunted Hike

Bundle up for a chilly hike at Steep Rock.


It will be in the 40s to low 50s so definitely wear layers, remembering a wind proof layer on top.


Packing some hot tea or soup in a thermos might be a good idea!

Mon 10/20 Blue Barns, Orzech Preserve, Roxbury

What: Outdoor Education 


When:  11am-3pm


Where:  2 Botsford Hill Rd, Roxbury


Park at Orzech Farm parking lot, we will hike and explore the fields and cross the river into River Road Preserve. Our goal for the day is to observe and document TREES, with the changing of the leaves, in our field notebooks. 


Parents are responsible for coordinating transportation.
