Below is a message from Shea Coughlin-Jacobs:
Hello all!
Abby Luis and a small professional camera crew will be coming into EWoW to gather some interview and B-Roll footage on Friday, September 27th,
If you have not already please make sure you have filled out the Photo and Quote Release that is required with registration. Lindsey and I are happy to help make sure you have submitted that form if you are not sure!
As with all video days, please make sure you are dressed in whatever way will make you feel most comfortable and confident in front of a camera.
Abby would also like to extend the opportunity to any interested students to fill the role of Production Assistant, they can expect the following as a way to get some hands-on experience in filmmaking and add something to their resume. Please email Abby if you are interested in any of the following:
For those interested in the technical side of filmmaking:
- Help move/set up lighting and learn lighting design and techniques.
- Use the fun clapboard thing and say "Action!" if they wanna.
- Get to see an industry-grade camera build and learn its parts.
- Shadow the crew members, ask them questions about their jobs, etc.
For those interested in the creative side of things:
- Shadow the director, ask me questions, etc.
- Give input on images, examine stylistic shot approach.
- Learn the intersections of form and content and how overarching themes from a written script can be expressed visually in shots.
- Learn set etiquette and the functions of a smooth-running set, and learn how interviews are conducted (a GREAT holistic thing to learn for entering the adulting world).
If you have any questions, feel free to ask Abby, or me so we can all be prepared for an awesome day of filming!
Best,
Shea Coughlin-Jacobs
